Bomb blast kills five at wedding party in Afghanistan

A bomb went off at a wedding ceremony in eastern Logar province of Afghanistan late Friday killing five persons.

Spokesman of provincial police chief, Shah Poor Ahmadzai said seven others were wounded in the attack which took place in Mohammad Agha district.

A provincial council member, Mohammad Naser Ghairat, confirmed the death toll, adding that the bomb was planted near the house where the wedding was taking place and targeted the participants of the wedding.

According to Ahmadzai, initial report shows that both the groom and bride were not hurt.

An investigation was begun to find out more and the death toll could rise. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack as at press time.
