Boniface expresses gratitude after surviving car accident in Germany

Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface suffered a serious car accident in Germany after helping Bayer Leverkusen win in the Bundesliga at the weekend.
The striker scored Leverkusen’s winning goal in their 2-1 victory at home to Eintracht Frankfurt before getting involved in the crash
Reports said the 23-year-old was then taken to hospital, but his club have said he has only suffered minor injuries to his hand.
According to German newspaper Bild (via Mirror) the striker is ‘doing well considering the circumstances and is only slightly injured’.

Boniface uploaded multiple photographs and a video of his smashed Mercedes on Instagram. He took a picture of his hand which was covered in blood, as well as a selfie from the hospital with a caption: ‘Thank you lord.’

On Sunday, Boniface wrote on social media ‘God is the greatest’ and ‘God says my time hasn’t come’.

It’s understood that Boniface was not driving the Mercedes, but was en route to Frankfurt airport to pick up friends.
Meanwhile, Leverkusen are due to play away to French side Brest in the Champions League this Wednesday.
