Bovi, Sheyi Shay named as hosts for Headies 2018

Organisers of the annual Headies music awards have named the pair of comedian Bovi and female songstress Sheyi Shay as the hosts of this year’s awards scheduled to be staged in Lagos this year.

The pair will now replace the duo of rapper/comedian Falz TheBahdGuy and actress, Adesuwa Etomi, who were the hosts of the last edition.

The announcement is coming days after the organisers named a long list of nominees for the awards following the screening of thousands of entries submitted in the year under review (from July 2016 – December 2017).

Leading the pack with highest nominations is HKN co-founder Davido with nods in six different categories while Wizkid, Simi, and Olamide, all follow behind with five nominations each across different categories.

Other artistes who had more than one nomination include; Tiwa Savage, Kiss Daniel, and Johnny Drille who got four (4) nominations each, while Flavour, Nonso Amadi, Banky W, Niniola, Runtown, Phyno and Reminisce each bagged three (3) nominations.

The organisers have also announced the addition of three new categories including The Viewer’s Choice Award, Best Performer category and a special category to recognize the efforts of brands to this year’s event which will mark its 12th edition.
