Brace-up, more attacks "imminent", British PM warns citizens as security alert is raised

British Prime Minister Theresa May has warned her nationals of more imminent terrorists attacks following a deadly suicide bombing at a concert in Manchester even as security threat levels has been raised from “severe” to “critical”.

In a televised address late on Tuesday, May warned that her government cannot ignore the possibility that there is “a wider group of individuals linked to this attack” in Manchester that killed 22 people and injured many others.

UK police say they have arrested a 23-year old man identified as Salman Abedi in connection with the suicide bomb attack which killed scores, including the attacker, and wounded dozens at a concert by US pop singer Ariana Grande.

Terror group, ISIS has claimed responsibility for the deadly explosion in a statement issued via channels on the messaging app Telegram when it said that “one of the soldiers of the caliphate placed explosive devices in a gathering of crusaders in the middle of the British city of Manchester,” hinting that the terrorist incident was not a suicide attack, as it is believed to have been.

According to UK police, an improvised explosive device went off late on Monday as thousands of – mostly young – fans streamed out of Manchester Arena at the end of Grande’s performance, police said.
