22 new cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria; total now 276

The number of Nigeria’s coronavirus patients increased to 276 on Wednesday night following the confirmation of 22 new cases by the country’s centre for disease control.

The NCDC said on its Twitter handle that 15 cases were recorded in Lagos, four in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), two in Bauchi and one in Edo.

Out of this figure, 44 patients have been discharged and six killed by the disease.

Lagos, the country’s commercial nerve centre, remains the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic with 145 cases.

NCDC said: “22 new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 15 in Lagos, 4 in the FCT, 2 in Bauchi, 1 in Edo. As at 09:00 p.m. 8th April there are 276 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 44 have been discharged with six deaths.”
