BREAKING: 238 new COVID-19 cases confirmed as Nigeria’s total climbs to 2170

The spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in Kano State reached a new high Friday night after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed 92 fresh cases in the state.

The new discoveries have further increased the number of COVID-19 cases in Northern Nigeria’s commercial capital to 311.

In the daily update of COVID-19 situation in Nigeria released on its Twitter handle, NCDC released the figures for the following states: FCT (36), Lagos (30), Gombe (16), Bauchi (10), Delta (8), Oyo (6), Zamfara (5), Sokoto (5), Ondo (4), and Nasarawa (4).

Others are – Kwara (3), Edo (3), Ekiti (3), Borno (3), Yobe (3), Adamawa (2), Niger (1), Imo (1), Ebonyi (1), Rivers (1), and Enugu (1).

Nigeria now has 2, 170 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 68 deaths.

However, 351 people have been discharged from health facilities across the country.

NCDC said: “2,170 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria.

“Discharged: 351 AND Deaths: 68.”
