BREAKING: 304 new COVID-19 cases take Nigeria’s total to 43,841. Death toll now 888

Nigeria on Sunday night recorded 304 fresh COVID-19 cases.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), which confirmed this on its Twitter handle, said the fresh cases were recorded in 14 states of the federation and Abuja.

It added that five persons died from complications resulting from the virus on Sunday.

Consequently, the number of COVID-19 fatalities increased from 883 to 888.

Also, the total number of confirmed cases increased to 43,841.

Meanwhile, 20,308 patients have been discharged from various isolation facilities across the country as at Sunday night.

The breakdown of the figure on a state-by-state basis revealed the following: Lagos (81), FCT (39), Abia (31), Kaduna (24), Rivers (23), Plateau (16), Cross River (13) and, Ebonyi (12).

Others are – Ondo (12), Ekiti (11), Edo (11), Benue (10), Nasarawa (10), Ogun (6) and, Gombe (5).

The NCDC said: “43,841 cases of #COVID-19 in Nigeria.

“Discharged: 20,308 AND Deaths: 888.”
