BREAKING: 503 new COVID-19 cases as Nigeria’s total rises to 28,879; death toll now 669

Nigeria on Tuesday night recorded 503 fresh COVID-19 cases.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), which confirmed this on its Twitter handle, said the fresh cases were recorded in 19 states of the federation and Abuja.

It added that 15 persons died from complications resulting from the virus on Tuesday.

Consequently, the number of COVID-19 fatalities increased from 654 to 669.

Also, the total number of confirmed cases increased to 29,879.

Meanwhile, 12,108 patients had been discharged from various isolation facilities across the country as at Tuesday night.

The breakdown of the figure on a state-by-state basis revealed the following: Lagos (153), Ondo (76), Edo (54), FCT (41), Enugu (37), Rivers (30), Benue (24), Osun (20), Kaduna (15), Kwara (13), Abia (9), and Borno (8).

Others are – Plateau (6), Taraba (5), Ogun (3), Kano (3), Kebbi (2), Nasarawa (2), Bayelsa (1) and Gombe (1).

The NCDC said: “29,879 cases of #COVID-19 in Nigeria.

“Discharged: 12,108 AND Deaths: 669.”
