Breaking: At least six people injured in rocket attack on central Israel

A rocket fired from Gaza hit a house in central Israel on Monday wounding six people.

This came in 10 days after rockets were fired towards Israel’s densely populated commercial capital Tel Aviv.

It was gathered that there was no immediate claim of responsibility for Monday’s incident after explosions were heard in central Israel as air raid sirens howled while the Magen David Adom ambulance service said it was treating six of the injured victims for wounds.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is seeking a fifth term in next month’s ballot, was in Washington on Monday to meet US President Donald Trump when the incident happened.

Gaza is said to be controlled by Hamas. The territory is home to other armed groups, including Islamic Jihad, an Iranian-backed organisation that also has an arduous rocket arsenal.
