Bomb blast in Zaria Govt Lodge

A number of people, many of them civil servants, are feared dead in a bomb explosion that went off this morning at the Government lodge, located in Sabon Gari area of Zaria, Kaduna State.

The blast suspected to be the handiwork of the Boko Haram terror group targeted an area where civil servants were undergoing biometric screening.

Though the exact casualty figure was not immediately known, governor of the state, Nasir El-Rufai, stated via his Twitter handle confirmed that at least 20 people were killed figure.

The attack came hours after a suicide bomb attack at a Mosque in Kano on Monday.

Similar explosions killed 44 people in Jos, Plateau State, on Sunday, the same day six persons were killed at a church in Potiskum, Yobe State, by a suicide bomber.
