BREAKING: Kogi House of Assembly confirms Onoja as Deputy Governor

The Kogi State House of Assembly, on Monday, confirmed Edward Onoja, as the Deputy Governor of the state.

Onoja was nominated by the state governor, Yahaya Bello, last week Friday, few hours after the impeachment of Simon Achuba by the state House of Assembly.

Until his nomination, Onoja was the immediate past Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello.

It was learnt that the nominee was not asked any question by the 25 lawmakers of the House.

He was ordered to take a bow and go immediately he appeared before them.

The Speaker of the House, Prince Mathew Kolawole, during the program advised the new deputy governor to support the vision of the state governor, Yahaya Bello.

He, thereafter, ordered the Clerk to convey the development to the Judiciary that was expected to swear-in Onoja as the new deputy governor.

The House thereafter adjourned plenary to Tuesday 3rd December, 2019
