BREAKING: Nigeria records 170 new COVID-19 cases to take total to 2558; death toll rises by 2 to 87

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Sunday night confirmed 170 new cases of COVID-19 in the country.

The centre said on its Twitter handle that Nigeria’s confirmed COVID-cases had now increased to 2, 558 with the latest discoveries.

The death toll and the number of discharged persons also increased to 87 and 400 respectively.

The breakdown of the infections figure on state-by-state basis shows the following: Lagos (39), Kano (29), Ogun (24), Bauchi (18), Kaduna (15), FCT (12) and Sokoto (12).

Others are – Katsina (8), Borno (7), Nasarawa (3), Adamawa (2) and Oyo (1).

The NCDC said: “2,558 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria.

“Discharged: 400 AND Deaths: 87.”
