BREAKING: Trump, Vance take oath of office as president, Vice president of USA (Video)

Donald Trump and J.D Vance on Monday both took the oath of office and were sworn in as President and Vice President respectively of the United State of America for the next four years.
Donald Trump has been inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States, making history as the first leader since Grover Cleveland to serve non-consecutive terms. The swearing-in ceremony, which marked Trump’s return to the White House after his first term from 2017 to 2021, comes amidst political division and heightened global challenges.
The ceremony, held indoors at the U.S. Capitol due to severe winter weather, began with the oath of office for Vice President JD Vance. A rising Republican star, Vance previously represented Ohio in the U.S. Senate from 2023 to 2025. Vance’s selection as Trump’s running mate underscored the former president’s commitment to energizing his party’s conservative base.
At exactly 12 p.m. ET, Chief Justice John Roberts administered the presidential oath to Trump, with former First Lady Melania Trump standing by his side, holding the Bible for the occasion. Trump raised his right hand and recited the familiar words:
“I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, so help me God.”
Unlike Trump’s first inauguration, which drew hundreds of thousands to the National Mall, this ceremony was limited to an indoor audience of approximately 700 guests due to logistical constraints. However, the smaller gathering did not dampen the significance of the event, which was broadcast live to millions worldwide.
The guest list included prominent politicians, Supreme Court justices, and foreign dignitaries. While the reduced attendance reflected the scaled-back nature of the event, the focus was squarely on Trump’s return to power and his ambitious vision for America’s future.
In his inaugural address, Trump struck a defiant and optimistic tone, signaling a new chapter for the nation under his leadership.
“The golden age of America begins right now,” Trump declared, drawing applause from the audience. “We will not allow ourselves to be taken advantage of any longer. I will, very simply, put America first.”

Reiterating themes central to his political identity, Trump vowed to restore America’s global prestige, strengthen its economy, and prioritize the needs of its citizens. “America will be the envy of every nation,” he said, framing his second term as a chance to complete the promises of his first.
Trump’s return to the presidency follows a tumultuous period in American politics. After losing the 2020 election to Joe Biden, Trump maintained a strong influence within the Republican Party, leveraging his loyal base and political clout to stage a comeback.
The path to his second inauguration was paved with controversy and challenges, including disputes over election integrity and a deeply polarized electorate. Yet Trump’s victory in the 2024 election demonstrated his enduring appeal to a significant portion of Americans who embraced his message of national pride and economic revival.
As Trump begins his second term, he faces a host of domestic and international challenges, including economic uncertainty, geopolitical tensions, and an increasingly divided political landscape. His inaugural address laid the groundwork for what promises to be a transformative, and likely contentious, presidency.
With his return to the White House, Trump embarks on a historic journey to define his legacy and reshape the trajectory of the United States.
