Yahaya Bello wins, returns as governor in Kogi

Gov. Bello denies alleged mismanagement of N344bn

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday declared Governor Yahaya Bello as winner of last Saturday governorship election in Kogi State.

Bello won in 12 of the 21 local government areas in the state, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Musa Wada triumphed in nine LGAs.

Bello scored 406,222 votes to defeat Wada who garnered 189,704.

The governor, who represented the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election, has now been re-elected for a second term in office.
