Jibrin tours ICPC, EFCC, DSS to incriminate Dogara, others
Operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, on Saturday sealed the office of the former Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin and the secretariat of the Appropriation Committee.
This presents a new twist in the face off between the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and Jibrin.
It would be recalled that the speaker and Jibrin had been at loggerheads over allegations of padding to the tune of N40 billion of the 2016 budget.
Jibrin, who was removed by Dogara as the chairman of the ‘juicy’ committee, has been calling for the probe of the speaker, while also making serious allegations against him.
According to reports, DSS operatives stormed the secretariat, which serves as offices for the 40-member appropriation committee and its staff, and immediately placed it under lock and key.
Jibrin’s office at Room 105 in the New House of Representatives building was also sealed.
It would also be recalled that Jibrin had alleged in a  statement on Thursday that Dogara ordered the removal of workstation from the Appropriation Committee Secretariat and allegedly attempted to break into his office.
The former Appropriation Committee chairman also  visited the DSS Headquarters on Friday to brief the agency about the budget padding scandal rocking the House.
