Buhari, APC have failed but they're comfortable with it --Jonathan's ex-aide

Erstwhile aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan on electronic media, Pastor Reno Omokri, has stated that the Muhammadu Buhari government has failed to lift the economy.

He lamented that the APC-led administration is comfortable with the failures now associated with the nation’s economy.

He was reacting to Buhari’s statement that he was satisfied with growth in the country’s economy after the President was briefed recently by the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, the Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, and Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Godwin Emefiele.

Omokri said, “It is quite evident that President Buhari has no shame because only a shameless leader would have declared that he is ‘satisfied with the state of the Nigerian economy’!

“We are experiencing a third quarter of negative growth and are World renowned to be in a recession and the man who should lead us out of it declares to the nation that he is SATISFIED with the state of our economy!

“That’s just like bringing a report card of failure back home to your dad and he tells you that he is satisfied with your performance! No wonder this All Progressive Congress government of Muhammadu Buhari reduced the cut off marks for admission into Nigerian universities! They are comfortable with failure.

“How did we get here? Our population is growing at 2.9 per cent, by far faster than our economy which grew at -1.5 per cent last year and our President is ‘satisfied’ with the economy’?

“We have an economy with 10.5 million out of school children with majority of them roaming the streets of Northern Nigeria with their begging bowls and the man who is tasked with changing that says he is satisfied with the status quo!

“Do you now see the reason why the BBC would make him their poster boy for shame?”

Omokri further said that it is of no use him fighting President Buhari when ordinary rats can defeat him.

Omokri has been accused by some people of fighting Buhari following some of his recent statements both on his Facebook page and Twitter handle.

But reacting in a post on his Twitter Handle Sunday morning he said, “Me fight MBuhari? Why would I waste time doing that when ordinary rat can defeat him? I’ve got better things to do than the job of a rat!”

He stated in another tweet, “Until a foolish man has the opportunity to govern, even he himself and his followers may mistakenly consider him a wise leader.”

The former aide to Jonathan had in an earlier statement said that President Buhari and his All Progressives Congress (APC) party members are aside being shameless are also comfortable with failure.
