Buhari sets up commission on ease of doing business

President Muhammadu Buhari has cancelled his two day state visit to the country’s commercial centre, Lagos, the Presidency said on Sunday. He is to be represented by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbjo.

The President had been slated to visit Lagos on Monday and Tuesday and was scheduled to commission some projects executed by the Lagos State government and have interactive sessions while at the Centre of Excellence.

Confirming the development, the Special Adviser to the president on media and publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina said that the Vice President would represent the President.

However, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, explained that the cancellation was due to  “scheduling difficulties.”

According to Shehu, President Buhari needed more time for the Lagos trip as well as a similar one to Edo State which had earlier been stepped down.

“As a result of this, the visit has been scaled down and he is being represented by His Excellency the Vice-President, who is going to Lagos to commission a few projects, leaving the rest for  Mr. President.

“The President will undertake these visits after the Ramadan.”
