President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Minister of Heath, Prof Isaac Adewole, to commence investigation into reports of an ‘unknown disease’ killing children in Jigawa State.
Buhari also directed the health minister to use all the necessary means to combat the outbreak of the disease reported in Gidan Dugus village of Wangara district, Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
Also, in a telephone call to Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State on Tuesday evening to find out details surrounding the mystery disease, Buhari commiserated with the governor and the families of the victims.
According to a statement by Garba Shehu, the president’s spokesperson, Buhari assured the governor that the Federal Government will provide the needed support towards containing the disease.
