Buhari drops Semenitari, nominates Ekere, Ndoma-Egba as MD, Chairman of NDDC

President Muhammadu Buhari, has dropped a former Commissioner of Information in Rivers State under the administration of former Governor Rotimi Amaechi, Mrs Ibim Semenitari as the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

In a letter addressed to the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki on Wednesday, President Buhari nominated a former Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Nsima Ekere as Managing Director and and former Senate Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, as Chairman.

There are indications that Saraki will read the president’s letter on the floor of the senate Thursday

It would be recalled that the President had appointed Semenitari as the acting managing director of the NDDC since December 21, 2015

It would also be recalled that President Buhari had also appointed another associate of the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Dr Peterside Dakuku, as the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, fuelling speculations that the president was intent on paying the former Rivers State governor back for his contribution to his election.
