Buhari gets special adviser on economy

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday approved the appointment of Sarah Omotunde Alade as Special Adviser to the President on Finance and Economy.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja.

Alade, according to the statement, will be operating from the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning.

She holds a B.Sc degree in Economics and a PhD in Management Science (Operations Research).

She retired from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as Deputy Governor in 2017 after spending 23 years in the apex bank.

Alade also acted as CBN Governor, albeit in an interim capacity, in 2014.
