In from Timothy Enietan-Matthews (Nation’s capital) … .

Indications have emerged that one of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial nominees, Hajia Amina Mohammed, may be screened as a nominee from Gombe State, her home state, instead of Kaduna, where she married.

This followed protests from politicians from Kaduna State against her nomination from Kaduna State.

According to Presidency sources, the Presidency may request that she be screened as a nominee from her home state, Gombe.

Prominent among those who opposed her nomination from Kaduna State are Senator Danjuma La’ah, Kaduna South Senatorial District; Hon. Jonathan Asake, former Reps member (Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency) and immediate past Sole Administrator of Zangon Kataf Local Council; Barr. James Kanyip, former Kaura Local Council Chairman and Ambassador Nuhu Bajoga, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Kaduna State.

Amina Mohammed presently serves as Special Adviser to UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, on Post 2015 Development Planning.

She worked prior to her current appointment as a senior adviser to late President Musa Yardua and former President Goodluck Jonathan on Millennium Development Goals for six years.
