GDP figures show Nigerian economy maintains path to recovery in Q1 2017

Amidst the growing confusion surrounding the true state of President Muhammadu Buhari’s health condition, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, has said the president is hale and hearty and that he even had a long telephone conversation with him Monday afternoon.

This was even as he said that he was voted for by the people of this nation, “myself and Mr President and so the people of this nation have not asked us to resign. I am absolutely not under any pressure whatsoever. The truth is that there has been no pressure from any source asking me to resign.”

He maintained that President Buhari is in good health contrary to speculations that he was critical ill or even dead.

The Acting President stated this when he spoke with State House correspondents immediately after a closed door meeting with the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters in Vice President’s Office, Sen. Babafemi Ojudu and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Matters, Hon. Abike Dabire at the Presidential Villa Abuja, on Monday.

“I am not under no pressure to resign. I was voted for by the people of this nation, myself and Mr President and so the people of this nation have not asked us to resign. I am absolutely not under any pressure whatsoever. The truth is that there has been no pressure from any source asking me to resign

“The President is hale and hearty. I spoke to the President just this afternoon and we had a long conversation. He was interested in knowing about the budget process and how far we have gone and the meeting today with the private sector and the economic recovery growth plan and I informed him about the protest march and feedback about what people are saying about the economy. He is in good shape.

“Just like he said in his letter to the National Assembly, he needs to go for a cycle of tests and once he sees the test results and gets medical advice, we expect him very soon.”

Speaking on his health status, the Acting President said he feels that the health status of President Buhari remains an issue only Mr President would discuss at the appropriate time.

“Again he is running test and all of that, before you will be able to determine your health status, you must be able to say this is my health status, do the test my doctors have advised me to do and will wait for the outcome of the tests and know my status.”

Since President Buhari on January 19 embarked on a 10-day medical vacation to London, the Presidency has had to contend with assorted rumours and news of his critical state of heath and even being dead.

While the rumours subsided following pictures of the President with his wife Aisha, another with Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun and some others, the rumours however became heightened following the President’s failure to return on January 6, having spent 18 days in London.

If Buhari is fine, then why can’t he talk openly to Nigerians officially? It is simple, anyone can be sick for real but make it known to us your real health status.

When I see lies, I can always Identify them without checking twice, Osinbajo is a big fat liar! If he truly talked to the president, why didn’t he tell the president his people are requesting to hear from him directly and the need for him to address the nation from U.K. We can’t be fooled again.

Please be mindful how you talk about a Man of God. The vice President cannot possibly be lying about this. If he didn’t receive a call from the President, what will it profit him to say he did. You Nigerians are just difficult.

If they like, they should bring Buhari out where they kept him, if they like, they should not, all I know is Buhari will not be hale and hearty and still insist he’d stay back in U.K for medical check ups, only a sick man does that. They presidency needs to know Buhari’s silence is putting pressure on the masses and gearing mixed reactions from all quarters of the country.

How I wish Osinbajo has the true executive power to make decisions without buhari’s approval, I would have been so happy and less concerned about buhari, if he is dead or alive. But osinbajo is just a figure head who only chair meetings and nothing more.
Osinbajo, tell me the truth. Is buhari dead or alive?
