Buhari has now received Budget 2018 - Presidency

The presidency has confirmed that the National Assembly has now transmitted the 2018 budget to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent.

Ita Enang, Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), disclosed this to state house correspondents on Friday night.

“I have received the budget on behalf of the Presidency. I am transmitting it now,” he told the reporters.

“I can confirm to you that the budget has left the national assembly.”

Asked about the destination of the document, Enang added, “When the budget leaves the National Assembly, it goes to the president. The president has received the budget.”

Recall that Senate President Bukola Saraki promised that the president would get the budget on Friday when he led National Assembly members to the presidential villa on Thursday.

Buhari submitted the budget in November but the lawmakers passed it two weeks ago, about 6 months after.
