Buhari leaves Saudi Arabia for UK on private visit

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday departed Makkah via the Abdulaziz International Airport Jeddah for the United Kingdom after he successfully performed the Lesser Hajj.

The President left Makkah for Jeddah at 1:30 p.m. (local time) while his presidential aircraft took-off for London at exactly 3:05 p.m.

He left the Saudi airport after the protocol led by Mayor of Jeddah, Almeer bin Abdallah bin Jalawi.

After performing the Umrah, President Buhari attended a three-day Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh which took place from October 29 to October 31.

While in Riyadh, the President held bilateral talks with King Salman and both leaders committed to deeper partnership in oil and gas and other areas of interest to both countries.

The Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, also paid a courtesy visit to President Buhari at his hotel room in Riyadh.

He also met with the United States Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin, and they held talks on investments in Nigeria under the new US International Development Finance Corporation.
