Buhari meets with Lawan, Gbajabiamila as Nigerians await his ministerial list

Published

President Muhammadu Buhari met behind closed doors with Senate President Ahmed Lawan, and House of Reps Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila on Wednesday.

The meeting is coming as Nigerians continue to wait for Buhari’s ministerial list, several weeks after he was inaugurated President for a second tenure on May 29.

The two leaders of both chambers of the National Assembly arrived the Presidential Villa at about 3.30pm for the meeting.

Ahmed had recently assured Nigerians that the list of Buhari’s cabinet will be sent to the Senate for screening on or before last week Thursday but that never happened.

There are no details yet on whether the meeting was because of the ministerial list, or the lawmakers’ plan to hold a security summit towards addressing the worsening insecurity situation in the country.
