Buhari, Man U laments death of 30 football fans in Calabar

Contrary to the believe of many Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari is on medical vacation in London, the Presidency on Thursday revealed that he was neither ill nor in any London Hospital.

His Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said the President in only in London on vacation.

Femi stated this during a live interview programme on CNBC Africa, in reaction to the speculation that the President embarked on the London trip following his critical state of health as a result of an undisclosed ailment.

Femi in his clarification said the rumoured hospitalisation of President Buhari was a figment of people’s imaginations.

“The President is in London on vacation. He is not in any hospital and he is not ill. When he was travelling last week the statement we put out was that he was going on vacation and during the vacation he would do routine medical check-up and nothing has changed from what we pushed out last week.

“If anybody has fed something else into the rumour mill that is just what it is, rumour,” he said.

Adesina went further to state that nobody will force the President to speak from London as it remains his right whether to talk or not.

“The fact that he is a President, he still has his rights, compelling him to come out and talk will be infringing on his rights. The President will talk if he wishes to and if he doesn’t wish to, nobody will compel him to talk.

“The truth is that the President is on vacation and he has given a date he will return to work,” he insisted.

Since President Buhari handed over power to his vice to act on his behalf and embarked on vacation to London, different rumours have continued to emanate on his state of health. He has been rumoured dead, and critically ill among others. However, the Presidency has continually refuted the rumours.

I see no reason why buhari can’t debunk this news surrounding his health by addressing us from where ever he is on a live telecast just for us to be at ease. They said he is not in UK, then where is he?

I believe he should be in the grave yard. So that this country can now smile with joy of freedom

I hope this rumour won’t turn out to be true since Buhari himself has refused to say a word on it. If he’s truly not sick, he ought to have addressed the nation, to assure them that he’s in good condition. Since he has refused to talk, I don’t even know what to believe again

I want to admit Femi Adesina’s words are true because he’s closer to the president and has direct access to the president. Since Mr President is doing fine, Nigerians should put their minds at peace and go about their daily activities as usual.

Admit lies. Femi Adesina himself has not seen the president . Well, I dont wish buhari dead but if it happens, then Osinbajo will have to take Nigeria to the promised Land.
