Buhari rebukes APC members

Published

on

At the commencement of the meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the APC, President Muhammadu Buhari has admonished members of the APC to accept the party’s supremacy in the interest of democracy.

In his opening remarks at the meeting Buhari charged members to put whatever interest they have in their “pockets” and accept the supremacy of the party in the overall interest of democracy.

He said, “Whatever your personal interests, put them in your pocket. Let APC work. Let the system work. I appeal to you to accept the superiority of the party. I cannot confine myself in Sambisa forest and refuse to participate in the meeting because I respect the superiority of the party.”

National leader of the party and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is absent at the ongoing meeting in Abuja.

Also, former interim National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande was also not present at the meeting.

Both leaders of the party have apparently not hidden their dissatisfaction with the national assembly leadership election held on June 9.
