Case on Buhari’s certificate goes to sleep

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday failed to honour the much anticipated visit to Ogoni land, and the oil rich Niger Delta area.

The visit was to herald the clean up of the area which has been ravaged by oil spills from several years of crude oil exploration and exploitation.

The vice president, Yemi Osinbajo has been delegated to represent the president at the event, which is holding at Bodo, Gokana LGA of River State.

Already, the ceremonies have kicked off. Osinbajo arrived in the company of Governor Wike of River State.

Also in attendance is Minister for Informatiom, Lai Mohammed, and his Environment counterpart, including Catholic Arcbishop Matthew Kukah.

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State was also sighted at the event.

It would be recalled that the president has also recently skipped out on a scheduled visit to Lagos state, with the presidency citing scheduling difficulties as reason.

But Ripples Nigeria had reported that he failed to visit Lagos due to health challenges.
