Buhari, Tinubu, Atiku, APC governors hold crisis talks
President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday night led chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Abubakar Atiku and some serving state governors in a closed-door meeting.
Though details of the meeting which held at the Banquet hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja are yet to be made public, analysts believe that the gathering was intended to contain the many crises confronting the party.
Among others, the leadership of the APC is said to be seeking ways to calm the crisis of confidence threatening to consume the chairman of the party, Chief Odigie Oyegun.
The media space had also been awash lately with reports of heated struggles to fill the vacant position of Board of Trustees Chairman, with many alluding to a subterranean tussle between the national leader, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

It has also been speculated that the APC caucus may have reviewed the party’s management of the economy so far, especially outcomes of the recent retreat which held in Abuja to seek alternative ways of growing the economy.
Party leaders who attended the meeting included Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; his deputy, Yusuf Lasun; the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyeigun; Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; former and sitting state governors, former and serving ministers as well as lawmakers among others.
State governors who attended included Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun); Rochas Okorocha (Imo); Adams Oshiomhole (Edo); Yahaya Bello (Kogi); Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna); Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano); Ibrahim Shettima (Borno); and Muhammed Abubakar (Bauchi).
