Buhari has used and dumped us, ‘bodyguards’ cry

Bodyguards of President Muhammadu Buhari during 2015 electioneering campaigns said that they have been abandoned by the president.

About 16 months after the 2015 presidential election, the group on Thursday, protested against their “exclusion” by those they described as “cabals in the government,” alleging that apart N20,000 they got on two occasions in January and February 2015, were all the got from their sacrifices for President Buhari.

Some of the group members who reportedly wept profusely, cried that “some cabals have hijacked the President,” as it claimed many of the key actors in Buhari’s government denying them access to him, are reaping where they did not sow, because they did not work for him.

Spokespersons of members of the Presidential Bodyguards Olabiyi Balogun, and three other members, Audu Odemeho, Abdullahi Hassan and Zubairu Idris, said this when they addressed media men on Thursday , warning that their marginalisation constituted a security threat to the country.

Balogun said, “Right now, we need Mr President to appreciate our hard work for him. We need Mr President to recognise the fact that we have lost everything because we championed the change agenda.”
