Buhari’s 800 metre walk, not parametre for fitness – Doctors

Published

on

Some renowned medical practitioners have come out to clear the air over the recent 800 metre walk by President Muhammadu Buhari and the controversy it is generating.

Among the medics is a professor of Community Health and Consultant Public Health Physician, Bayo Onajole, who said that the walk should not be seen as yardstick to measure the president’s fitness or wellness.

He made the clarification yesterday when he spoke to New Telegraph correspondent on the telephone.

The physician described the controversy surrounding the walk as unnecessary as, according to him, someone could walk up to five kilometres but that doesn’t necessarily imply that that person was healthy.
