Rejected by APC, Aisha Al-Hassan moves APC state structure to UDP

Jummai Alhassan, a former Minister of Women Affairs has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from United Democratic Party (UDP).

She announced her decision during a stakeholders meeting of UDP, held at her Jalingo residence.

Alhassan, who is popularly known as Mama Taraba, contested in the 2019 governorship election on the platform of the UDP.

She was expelled from the All Progressives Congress (APC) before the 2019 general election for alleged anti-party activity.

The former minister explained that her defection to PDP was based on the outcome of the opinion poll during stakeholders meeting.

According to her, she had no option than to go by the decision of the majority members of UDP and decamp to PDP.

Present at the stakeholders meeting were representatives of UDP members from 168 wards across the 16 local government areas of the state.
