Buhari’s hatred for Ndigbo real reason he’s harassing Jonathan —MASSOB

The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra ( MASSOB) has alleged that the perceived fair treatment ex-President Goodluck Jonathan accorded to Ndigbo was the reason his family is being harassed by Muhammadu Buhari’s government .

The pro-Biafra group, which accused Buhari of having hatred for Ndigbo, said that his administration is not happy with the administration of former President Jonathan.

The group was reacting to all that Patience Jonathan, wife of the immediate past president has continued to go through since the coming of this administration.

A building said to belong to the former First Lady in Abuja was recently pulled down, while she has continued the legal battle to unfreeze her different bank accounts frozen by different courts under the asking of the Federal Government.

But MASSOB in a statement by its leader, Uchenna Madu, insisted that the family of the former leader is going though all that because his government was fair to Ndigbo.

Madu therefore called on the people of the eastern region to condemn the action of Buhari’s government against Jonathan’s family, who he said are part of them.

“Because of religious and political hatred against Ndigbo by the Buhari – led Federal Government, it is not happy with the administration of former President Jonathan, who conceded a fair treatment to Ndigbo and that is why the government is punishing her because she is an Igbo daughter.

“MASSOB is aware that Mrs. Patience Jonathan is experiencing attacks by the Buhari-led Federal Government because it sees her as a primary supporter of her husband.

“The Federal Government sees her as the superwoman that became the barrier in breaking the soul of her husband. The Federal Government believes that if eventually they cage Mrs. Patience Jonathan, her husband will collapse politically,” Madu said.

He further wondered why there was no such witch- hunt against other “Hausa-Fulani daughters,” who were first ladies before Jonathan.

Madu added, “Some public office holders in the Buhari – led Federal Government have committed overwhelming and outrageous financial misappropriation, money laundering and anti -government offences without prosecution or retrieving government assets and money from them .

“MASSOB therefore advises the people of the eastern region to build and grow the spirit of defending their own because Nigeria, which is a mere geographical expression, is a no-man’s-land and inheritance.

“Our people must eschew the spirit of cowardice. The diverse ethnic nationalities of eastern region must know that by virtue of traditional, cultural, religious and social heritage bestowed on our people by our ancestors, we are brothers and sisters. We must be bold and eloquent in defending our own.”
