Burkina Faso in 72hrs of mourning after terror attack

According to local authorities, Burkina Faso is to observe 72 hours of national mourning after Saturday’s hotel attack by Al-Qaeda militants which saw the killing of at least 28 people and 56 others who were injured while the attacks lasted.

After a joint operation by local and French security forces, the siege at the Splendid Hotel by heavily armed militants was declared over in the hotel popular with foreigners.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said six of his countrymen were killed in the siege which left at least four of the militants dead in a gun battle with security forces.
