Enugu Rangers were beaten by Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel in what happened to be their first defeat in the group stage of the competition this season.

The matchday three encounter in Sousse on Sunday saw the Flying Antelope fall to a 2-1 defeat and crashed in their standing.

Bright Silas had put the Nigerian League side ahead in the 14th minute fro. A Micheal Uchebo assist, before the hosts fought back.

Sahel got the equaliser through Iheb Msakni 10 minutes before halftime.

Sadam Ben Aziza then scored the winning goal for late in the game, handing them their first win of the group stage.

Rangers, with four points, dropped to second position in the table following the loss.

This is as Tunisia’ s CS Sfaxien, who held Burkina Faso’s Salitas to a goalless draw in the group’s other game, climbed top with five points.

Etoile occupy third position with four points, while Salitas sit in last position with two points.

Rangers’ next game will be against Etoile du Sahel in Nigeria, and is billed for next Sunday.
