Enyimba, Nigeria’s representatives at the CAF Confederation Cup, were beaten 2-0 at Williamsville Athletic Club in a Group C clash on Sunday.
The defeat, courtesy of a goal in each half from N’da Jean-Willy and Guy Serge Cdric Yameogo at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium, saw the Aba club drop from top of the group to third spot.
Enyimba picked up a win in their last game in Port-Harcourt which took them to the group summit, but were condemned to a second group defeat by a dominant Williamsville.
Willy scored in the 31st minute to give Williamsville Athletic Club a one goal lead into halftime, before Yameogo doubled it in the 77th minute.
Two-time African champions Enyimba are now third in group C with six points from four games, behind Carra Brazzaville who are second with a superior goals difference.
Williamsville top the table with seven points, while Djoliba of Mali, who were beaten 1-0 by CARA on Sunday, are fourth with four points from four games.
Enyimba will face Djiloba next on August 19.
