#CAFCC: Plateau Utd draw Algeria’s USM Alger; Enyimba face Bidvest Wits

NPFL champions, Plateau United will play against USM Alger of Algeria in the play-off round of the CAF Confederation Cup, according to the draw which took place on Wednesday evening.

The Jos side crashed out of the CAF Champions League when they fell to Etoile du Sahel in the first round of the competition, before dropping to the continental second tier.

Plateau United will host the Algerian side in the first leg before traveling to the North African nation for the reverse fixture.

The other of Nigeria’s representatives, two-time African champions, Enyimba, newbies, MFM FC, and Akwa United also discovered their opponents at the draw.

While Enyimba were paired against South Africa’s Bidvest Wits, MFM will play Mali side, Djoliba AC de Bamako.

Enyimba of Aba, who defeated Energie FC of Benin 5-2 on aggregate to get to this stage, will be hosted by their opponents in the first leg of the encounter.

MFM FC, who dropped from the Champions League, will entertain their Malian opponents in the first leg.

Meanwhile, Akwa United were drawn with Al Hilal of Sudan in the play-off tie, to be away in the first leg and at home in the second leg.

Aggregate wins for the four clubs will guarantee them a place in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The first leg will be played between 6,7 and 8 of April while the reverse fixtures will take place between April 17 and 18.
