Ogun State’s Governor Ibikunle Amosun has clarified that he indeed visited Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari in London, but said it will be out of place for him to talk about the President’s health condition.

A picture showing Amosun, a man and a woman in a room said to be in London with President Buhari, was among the first photo evidences the Presidency dished out at the heat of the President’s death rumour to prove rumour mongers wrong.

However, controversy has continued to trail the authenticity of that photo.

But Amosun when accosted by newsmen to make clarification on the visit on Monday, during an event at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, said he truly visited the President in London.

He said, “Yes it is true I visited our president in London and he is doing fine. If you ask me pointedly whether I saw him or not, yes I did and that is the only thing that I can say. And of course you can see he is very well, he is okay. So I don’t know what else you want me to say.”

Asked if he can comment on the health condition of President Buhari when he met him in London, he said, “I am not one of the spokespersons of Mr. President; so it will be out of place for me to talk on that. But then, they are doing their job and you’ve listened to all that they have said.”

The event at which the governor stated this was a Climate Change Knowledge Immersion Workshop put together by the Federal Government in conjunction with the World Bank.
