Casualty as multiple auto accidents occur in Lagos

One person died in multiple accidents in the early hours of Friday in Lagos.

The accident which involved two 20-feet containers, a private towing truck, a Toyota Sienna bus with number SMK 22 AV and an articulated truck with number plate APP 444 XV, reportedly occurred along the Apapa/Oshodi Expressway, Cele Expressway, Lagos.

The accidents occurred when the towing vehicle broke down and was undergoing repair. But the articulated truck conveying the containers accidentally developed mechanical problems of its own and rammed into both the towing vehicle and the vehicle being towed.

Both containers fell off the truck and landed on the Toyota Sienna and the tow truck. The truck motor boy died at the spot and the Sienna bus damaged beyond recognition.

The Director-General of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, who confirmed the incident, said the vehicles were removed through the combined efforts of policemen from Ijesha Division and LASEMA Response Team.
