Celebrities react to deadly Lagos tanker explosion

Scores of celebrities on the Nigerian entertainment space have taken to social media to express their sympathy and extend condolences to families of victims who lost their lives during the tragic tanker explosion which happened on Thursday at the Otedola Bridge, Lagos end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Many of them took to Instagram to bare their minds over the unfortunate incident which reportedly claimed nine lives burn five buses, two trucks, one tricycle, and 45 cars.

Leading the deluge of messages on the social media platform was Tiwa Savage wrote saying; “I usually don’t like posting pictures like this but how many more lives before we all truly do something to save Nigeria. May the soul of the departed rest in peace.

Rapper, Falz also shared his thoughts on the social media platform when he wrote thus; “God help us. Oh lord, comfort the families of the lost ones in Lagos today.

Yemi Alade also added her voice too when she penned her thoughts saying; “Please be safe. Lagos, our thoughts and prayers are with all the families that lost loved ones today. This too shall pass in Jesus name. Amen…

Toyin Abraham was also not left out; “Please say a prayer for victims and casualties. May God heal our land,” she wrote on Instagram.

The incident reportedly happened after a petrol-laden tanker crashed and exploded at the Otedola Bridge, Lagos end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

In a statement, spokesman for the FRSC, Bisi Kazeem said; “A crash involving a fallen loaded tanker crash has occurred around Otedola bridge on the outward Lagos section of the expressway. Many vehicles caught fire in the process.”
