Champions League: Chelsea defeat Qarabag to reach last 16

English Premier League champions, Chelsea have qualified for the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League after thumping Azerbaijan side, Quarabag on Wednesday.
A 21st-minute penalty that follwed the sending off of Qarabag’s Rashad Sadygov was converted by Eden Hazard to put the Blues ahead before Willian doubled their lead on 36 minutes.
After the break, Chelsea continued their dominance. Another foul on Willian gave rise to another spot kick for the visitors as Cesc Fabregas made it 3-0 with 16 minutes left to stoppage time.
But five minutes to the stroke of full time, William netted his second of the night to ensure Chelsea reach a 14th Champions League last 16 in their last 15 appearances in the elite league.
Chelsea had beaten Qarabag at Stamford Bridge on matchday one to stay top of Group C, and have now defeated them again to reach the knockout stage.
Antonio Conte’s men now join PSG, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid and Besiktas as teams already guaranteed spots in the round of 16.
