CHAN 2018: Eagles coach Salisu invites 30 players for qualifier

Yusuf to select CHAN 2018 team from NPFL pre-season tournament

Ahead of African Nations Championship qualifier scheduled for August, Super Eagles’ Chief Coach, Salisu Yusuf, has invited 30 players to camp.

The CHAN qualifying fixture will be against the winner in the tie between Togo and Benin Republic, which will be decided this July.

The list, which consists only of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) stars, was released on the official website of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday.

NPFL Leading scorer Stephen Odey, IfeanyiUbah’s goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Akwa United’s midfielder Alhassan Ibrahim, Plateau United’s Elisha Golbe, Enugu Rangers’ Chiamaka Madu are among players invited.

Nigeria finished third place in the 2014 edition of the tournament, and will begin the race for a higher place when they face either Togo or Benin away on the weekend of 11th – 13th August.

The return leg of the fixture will then hold in Nigeria on Saturday, 19th August.
