CHAN Eagles beat Kano Pillars’ feeder team in friendly

CHAN Eagles win NPFL invitational tournament

As part of preparations ahead of their African Nations Championship qualifier, the home-based Super Eagles played a friendly with Kano Pillars feeder team and won 3-1.

The Eagles have been in camp for two weeks under the leadership of Head Coach, Salisu Yusuf, in Kano.

The match which took place at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Friday, is one of the measures expected to equip the team ahead of their game against Benin Republic.

All four goals in the game were scored in the first half.

It was Mathias Samuel who put the home-based Eagles ahead before Kano Pillars Feeders leveled.

Ibrahim Alhassan restored the lead minutes later, before adding the third goal to give the home-based Eagles a 3-1 victory.

The first leg of the 2018 CHAN qualifier against Benin Republic in Cotonou comes up on August 13, and the reverse fixture holds less than a week later in Nigeria.
