CHAN Eagles to know group foes on Friday
The home-based Super Eagles of Nigeria will discover their 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) group stage opponents in the draw ceremony billed for Friday in Morocco.
The fifth edition of the tournament which brings together 16 national teams across the continent comprising only of local based players, will kick off from 12th January to 4th February 2018.
The organizing committee for the tournament announced that although the games will be played in four cities (Casablanca, Marrakech, Tangier and Agadir), the opening match and the final will be played at the newly refurbished Mohammed V Complex in Casablanca.
Meanwhile, there are four pots consisting of the 16 qualified team of which the Eagles are in pot 2.

Also in pot 2 are the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, Syli Stars of Guinea and the Chipolopolo of Zambia; while the hosts, Morocco, are seeded in pot 1 along with Angola, Cote d’ivoire and Libya.
Below are the pots and their constituent teams ahead of the draw:
Pot 1: Morocco (host), Angola, Cote d’Ivoire, Libya
Pot 2: Cameroon, Guinea, Nigeria, Zambia
Pot 3: Congo, Uganda, Rwanda, Sudan
Pot 4: Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Mauritania, Namibia
It is worthy of note that the Nigerian team failed to advance from the group stage at the last edition in Rwanda, and the winners of that edition in 2016, DR Congo, failed to qualify for 2018.
