The Nigeria Football Federation Wednesday confirmed Kano as the venue for Eagles’ African Nations Championship qualifier against Benin Republic or Togo.

This was according to NFF General secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, who also said camping will begin in the state capital next Monday as the Kano state government has agreed for the team to begin.

“The Governor Umar Ganduje administration has approved of the Eagles camping in Kano from Monday ahead of the first leg of their qualifying fixture against either Benin or Togo, which will be in Cotonou or Lome on August 13,” Sanusi said.

“The Super Eagles’ delegation will depart for the away match on August 11, and return to Kano to continue camping for the second leg, which will come up on August19.”

Already, Togo and Benin Republic have played the first leg of the preliminary fixture in a 1-1 draw in Lome at the weekend, and the second leg is slated for the Stade de L’Amitie in Cotonou this Sunday.

Nigeria finished third place in the 2014 edition of the tournament, and will begin the race for a higher place when they play at Cotonou or Lome and later at the Sani Abacha Stadium a week later.
