Chaos as Edo Assembly Deputy Speaker is impeached
The Edo State House of Assembly was on Monday thrown into a rowdy session as members impeached the Deputy Speaker, Tiger Edoror.
Edoror’s impeachment came following a motion moved by Osaigboyo Oyoha, a member representing Oredo East Constituency in the Assembly.
Oyoha had in moving the motion accused the former Deputy Speaker of financial misappropriation, anti-party activities and involvement in corruption.

The House was thrown into a rowdy session when members of the Assembly loyal to Edoror rose in defense of the former Deputy Speaker and made efforts to resist his impeachment.
His supporters who had also gathered around the assembly complex had to be dispatched by the police as they had become unruly when they heard of the impeachment proceedings.
The police had a hard time in retiring order around the premises, and had to fire warning shots to disperse Edoror’s supporters.
