Chase out the Buharis from politics, Sen Melaye urges Nigerian youths

In what appears a direct attack on President Muhammadu Buhari who is above 70 years, an All Progressives Congress (APC) senator, Dino Melaye, has called on Nigerian youths to get actively involved in politics to ensure no politician in his 70s rules the country again.

The APC Kogi West senator, who described such politicians as “old cargoes” who needed to be chased out of the political scene, said if the youths must boot out the old politicians effectively, it is now vital for them to come out and be actively involved in politics so as to take their rightful positions.

The senator stated this at the weekend in Abuja during a dinner and lecture put together by the Nigerian Youths Parliament where he represented the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

He said there was no way someone in his 70s can still be in a leadership position in the Nigerian polity should Nigerian youths actively participate and take charge of the political scene, adding that the youths constitute more than 60 per cent of the electoral votes which can be used by them to determine who emerges as leader in the country at whatever level.

Melaye told the youths that it was not possible for anyone to rob them of their vast potentials should they channel them in the right directions.

“You must picture the future you want to feature in. You need to develop your capacity. There is no way someone in his 70s can still be in a leadership position in the Nigerian polity if you the youths are effectively involved and in charge.”

Dino’s position, Ripples Nigeria learnt, is already causing some upset among his party’s leadership which has already started strategizing and making assiduous arrangement on how to return President Buhari, who will be about 76 years by 2019.

Even kogites are ashamed of Dino as thier senator. He keep muttering rubbish like Fayose. He is always abeting corruption, he will always be at the wrong side. He is the one Kogi youths will chase out of politics and not buhari

You’re part of those who are not allowing Nigeria move forward, I guess one of your family members is a politician and older than 70 years, that’s why you’ve failed to pick the wisdome in what Dino said. This has nothing to do with his personality, but the sense in what he said.

What are we expecting Dino to say in a Youth Dinner/forum?
The average Nigerian youth wants to listen to such words to make himself feel better about his predicament.
Dino couldn’t have said anything better than say the obvious and get some rounds of applause for it. But that he’s representing Bukola Saraki says a lot on how these men take us – like shits!

Dino Malaye is a funny man, so the new term for politicians from age 70 years above is ‘Buharis’. These politicians and their funny acts at times. He has said right, Nigerian youths need to take charge so all these old men won’t be ripping us off our rights

This is one of the best advises to the youths so far this year, and it’s coming from an APC member who knows Buhari is too old and not fully fit to govern Nigeria properly. Most of the APC men won’t say this, I hope it won’t get him into trouble in the long run,

Dino’s political career has come to an abrupt end. He can never get any political office again in his life after he is done with this tenure. Mark my words.

We all know buhari is too old and he was been voted in as the president. This is just the beginning of the problem we are facing in nigeria more is yet to come

Am sure saraki will never admit he told Dino to assert this inciting statement. Dino just wanted to implicate saraki because it is assumed everything he said at the event is what Saraki told him to say.

Sometimes you pick wisdom in what come out from unwise man and more also you see nonsense from what comes out of the wise man, but that’s to tell us that no man is perfect execpt God, right from 17 sentries of America history before now, there’s no perfection but is only getting better and that’s what we happen in Nigeria also, it will only get better if youth can lead this country with the help and support of the old once without tribalism or selfish reason & corruption, a youth age and a measure mind, we can do it
