Chelsea beat Stoke City 4-2, extend successive wins to 13

English Premier League leaders Chelsea FC have defeated Stoke City 4-2 in a very suspenseful game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday to reach successive win number 13.

A brace from Willian and goals from Cahill and Costa helped Antonio Conte’s men to a comfortable victory over a hard-fighting Stoke City, who scored twice in the game.

Gary Cahill opened the scoring to give Chelsea the lead in the half hour mark, and just after a minute into the second half, Bruno Martins put in an equaliser. Chelsea got back in the lead with a goal from Willian at 57 minutes, Peter Crouch leveled again at 64.

Willian, again, restored the Blues lead less than a minute after. But the visitors were not able to get back even with the quite commendable efforts they put in during the half. And 5 minutes from the final whistle, Diego Costa made the score 4-2.

Chelsea will travel to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night, where they would play with the hope to equal the record of 14-successive Premier League victories – a record currently held by Arsenal FC.
