Hazard double helps Chelsea beat West Ham, climb to third in EPL

Eden Hazard was the only goalscorer of the night as his brace helped Chelsea ease past West Ham in a Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge.

With the win, the Blues climbed to third on the league table, with fourth- and fifth-placed Tottenham and Arsenal having a game each at hand.

Hazard scored the first goal in the 24th minute after he evaded five players during a stunning run, before calmly beating keeper Lukasz Fabianski.

The Belgian doubled the lead at the stroke of 90 minutes, to cap a suberb individual performance for his side in a really entertaining game on Monday night.

Maurizio Sarri’s men are now three points ahead of fifth-placed Gunners and two points ahead of Spurs, after securing a third successive league victory.

Chelsea will play away to Slavia Prague in the first leg of their Europa League quarterfinal tie on Thursday.

Meanwhile, West Ham remain 11th after a third defeat in four Premier League games.
