China denies Trump's claims of hacking into Clinton's email‎ account

A claim by US President Donald Trump that China hacked into the email account of 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has been denied by Beijing.

Reacting to the claim by Trump which was not backed with proof, China’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said; “This isn’t the first time that we’ve heard this kind of accusation.

“China is a staunch defender of cybersecurity. We firmly oppose and crack down on any form of internet attacks and the stealing of secrets. China advocates that the international community jointly respond to cybersecurity threats through dialogue and cooperation, on the basis of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit.”

In a post on Twitter, Trump claimed that China had hacked Clinton’s emails and demanded the FBI and Department of Justice to investigate.

He wrote; “Hillary Clinton’s Emails, many of which are Classified Information, got hacked by China. Next move better be by the FBI & DOJ or, after all of their other missteps (Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Page, Ohr, FISA, Dirty Dossier etc.), their credibility will be forever gone!” he tweeted a little after midnight on Wednesday.

The U.S. intelligence officials had earlier informed that Russia orchestrated the hacking of Democratic officials to meddle with the 2016 presidential election but Trump is singing a different tune.

Recall that months ago, a U.S. federal grand jury indicted 12 Russian intelligence officers in July on charges of hacking the computer networks of Clinton and the Democratic Party.
